The Salty Co. Origin Story

As an eager, skeptical and novice bible study student,  I was introduced to Deanna Koehl through a local church.  I originally thought she was a little crazy. She would sit us down in our small group and we would hear God and see God, right there in the middle of the group!  I was in awe of her relationship with Jesus and what started out as crazy ended up being exactly what I was searching for.  My relationship with Jesus blossomed and Deanna and I grew very close.  Before I knew it, I was calling her my best friend!  God then so graciously spoke to me that we were to partner together and start a ministry that helped people experience Jesus the way she had taught me.  I made several attempts to get her attention but she just wasn’t listening! Finally, her ears were opened and at a bookstore during the holiday season of 2017 she took the bait! From that moment, we never looked back.  As you can see, the birth of The Salty Community happened long before it ever had a name, or was even a thought in the minds of myself or Deanna.  She was just sharing her relationship with God and Jesus and I was there strategically placed by God so that Salty could become a reality.
